I had been using the Hoover SteamVac carpet cleaner to steam clean the carpet in my home. For the most part, it did a pretty good job. However, over the years my carpet got old and dirtier. It was getting harder to clean the carpet using the Hoover. I decided that it was time to get a stronger carpet cleaner. After doing some research online, I came upon the Bissell Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine Professional Grade Carpet Cleaner 86T3. This vacuum had tons of positive reviews so I decided it would be the right vacuum for my house. The fact that it is a professional grade carpet cleaner I would expect that it would really get all the dirt out of the carpet.
When I got the Bissell, I took out the instructions and followed it to set up the machine. The instructions are very clear and I think anyone could easily figure it out. The machine was designed for ease in putting together. All the parts can be snapped on without using any tools. Once I got the machine set up, I immediately gave it a try on my carpet. I poured the cleaning solution that came with the machine and started vacuuming each room. I must say that this vacuum was wonderful in picking up dirt. I was able to get more dirt out of the carpet than with my Hoover vacuum. The Bissell was able to get old stains like food stains, wine stains, gas stains, and other stains in which I have no idea what it is. After doing a thorough cleaning on the carpet, I could not believe how clean it was. The carpet looks like it did the first day it was installed. I also used the wand to clean the furniture like the couch. It was able to get all the dirt out of the couch including stains. The machine did not harm the fabric of the couch even though the fabric was old. The wand is really good for getting the parts of your house that are inaccessible with the Bissell. It works well for getting into edges and nooks and crannies. Drying was also pretty fast. It took about two hours for the carpet to dry up completely. If I had hired professional cleaners it would take half a day for the carpet to dry. After I finished cleaning, I put all the parts of the Bissell in the bathroom for drying.
Although the Bissell is an expensive machine, it is definitely well worth the money. I figured that I only have to make this one payment and I get to clean my home for several years. I think that is a better investment than hiring professional cleaners every time you need a cleaning. Over the long run, you will certainly be saving money and your carpet would be much cleaner.
