My neighbor has a dog that always seems to like to do his business in my yard. I have asked my neighbor to restrain his dog but nothing is done. So I bought some repellants and sprays in hopes of getting the dog to leave my yard alone. Unfortunately none of these solutions seemed to work. I had just about given up on stopping the dog from pooping in my yard until I found out about the Contech CRO101 Scarecrow Motion Activated Sprinkler.
A friend of mine recommended this motion activated sprinkler to me. He had tried it in his yard with great success. It scares always just about any wildlife away. Based on his experience, I bought my own Scarecrow and set it up in my yard. I connected a water hose to the sprinkler and turned it on. You’ll want to be careful when you turn it on because it could spray you. The motion detector won’t be able to tell the difference between you or an animal. Every time the sprinkler detects motion it releases a short burst of water. The sudden water spraying combined with the scarecrow’s movement scares the animals away. The motion detector is able to detect and protect up to 1000 square feet of space. If you have a bigger yard, you may want to set up more than one scarecrow. After I set up the Scarecrow, my neighbor’s dog has not been doing business in my yard anymore. Here is a video of the Scarecrow in action.
You may also want to add a water timer to your hose in order to control when you want the sprinkler to be on. For example, you could set the timer for 8 pm to 8 am so that only during those hours the sprinkler will work. All in all, this is a great device. If you want an effective way to scare away animals from your yard or garden, then the Contech Scarecrow is the best device for the job.
